Melanie M. Schnurbusch, 42, Of Owego, NY passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning April 23, 2024 as the result of a motor vehicle accident with her companion, Brett Relyea. She is survived by her son, Michael Predmore; her mother and step-father, Susan and Bruce Kerschner; her father and step-mother, Glenn and Diane Schnurbusch; also her kids, Nate Relyea and Kaley Adams; her sisters, Kelly Ann Kerschner and Stephanie Thomson; and her brothers, James Barragree and Matt Barragree. Melanie was also survived by Brett's children, Tabitha and Preston; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, including her Godmother, Aunt Deb. She was predeceased by her step-mom, Beverly.
Melanie was born in Binghamton, NY on July 6, 1981. She graduated from Owego Free Academy where she also worked through the Co-op at Lockheed-Martin. She was especially proud of earning her hairstyling license, operating the Hair Saloon in Candor, and also providing service at her clients home's as well. She worked for the New York State Workers Compensation Department for 16 years, had her own cleaning business and also handled all types of administrative work for Relyea's. Melanie was an amazing photographer, always capturing the best image, beginning on her own, and then accompanied by her son as M&M Photography. She had a passion for music, classic cameras, racing and the demolition derby. She especially loved dogs, and her faithful companions- Max, Gunther and Harley brought so much enjoyment into her life. Most of all, Melanie was a kind and generous person with a heart made of gold. She would always be there to help others in any way she could. Keep Melanie in your thoughts whenever you see a sunflower or dragonfly.

Melanie was a wonderful mother and the daughter of my cousin Glen. Thankful for meeting her at reunions and other family gatherings. On behalf of the Valentine and Geraldine Kircher family, Regina, Chyrl, Scott, and Mark we send thoughts and prayers to the family and friends and especially Mel's children.
