Melba Jean Reeves Barley, born on April 25, 1939, to Paul and Lois Reeves, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025. She grew up in Baker, Florida.
Melba devoted her life to faith, family, and community. For over 50 years, she taught Sunday School, nurturing generations with kindness and scripture. A dedicated housewife and proud member of the Homemaker's Club for more than five decades, she found joy in tradition, service, and fellowship. She adored her cats, cherished her two sons and grandchildren, and was the steady heart of her family-always present, always supportive. With quiet strength and unwavering love, she raised her children to become thriving adults. She stood faithfully beside her beloved husband Ralph throughout their life together and lovingly was by his side until his passing in 2024.
Family was at the center of Melba's life. She was a devoted wife to Ralph Barley, and together they raised two sons, Keith (Debra) and Scott (Sally). Melba cherished her role as a mother and instilled in her children the same virtues she held dear.
Her love extended beyond immediate family. Melba was preceded in death by her siblings Wilma, Rosalyn, Harold, Paul and Dudley. Their bond was unbreakable, and their memories together will forever be treasured.
Melba's impact reached even further, touching the lives of her grandchildren: Caleb, Clay,
Eric (Sarah), Jimmy (Jennifer), and Candy. She delighted in their laughter and enjoyed spending time with them.
Her great grandchildren include: Izzabella, Allen, Jerry, Willow, and Charleigh.
Melba's faith was the cornerstone of her life. Her unwavering faith in God guided her actions and inspired those around her. She lived a life of purpose, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to shine brightly.
Melba will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her memory will live on through the stories we tell, the lessons we've learned, and the love we continue to share. May we all have peace knowing Melba is in Heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday November 7th 2025 at Immanuel Baptist Church 4187 US-90 Pace, Florida 32571 with Visitation from 10:00-11:00 am and Service at 11:00 am.
