Melvin Arthur Guenther Jr.

Melvin Arthur Guenther Jr., 69, of Garden City, Michigan, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Garden City Hospital.
Melvin was born on February 6, 1956 to the late Melvin A. Guenther Sr. and Josephine (Borroso) Guenther, in Detroit, Michigan. He attended and graduated from Roseville High School. Melvin married Janice Tackett in Canton, Michigan on September 29, 2001. Melvin enjoyed riding motorcycles and four-wheelers with his family. He loved flying remote control airplanes and was a long-standing member of the Frasier Airplane Club and the Detroit Aeromodelers Club. His love of airplanes lead Melvin to build model airplanes in his spare time. On Thursdays, Melvin joined his good friend, Tony, at the dome to fly remote control airplanes or down to Woodward Avenue to watch the Dream Cruise. He was a hunter and enjoyed deer and pheasant hunting while spending time in the great outdoors. Melvin loved his family and was always excited to spend time up north with them. He delighted in taking his wife, Janice, out on dates for dinner and a movie.
Melvin was survived by his wife, Janice Guenther; children, Melvin (Pamela) Guenther III, Melissa (Daniel) Farero, Tiffany Lowe, Jeremy Tackett, Jamie Tackett; grandchildren, Melvin, Madison, Michael, Carter, Hunter, Luke, Gavin, Pantera, Amelia, Riley; brothers, Kurt Guenther, Butch Halbert, Darrell Halbert; sister, Rosary Emerick; and several nieces and nephews.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Josephine Guenther Sr.; sister, Genevieve Pasque; and step-mother, Elsie Guenther.
The family will receive visitors from 11-1 PM on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at Marsh Funeral Chapel, Marlette.
