MCCORDSVILLE – Michael E. Armey, age 83, of McCordsville, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Traditions At Brookside in McCordsville, IN. He was born in Fort Wayne, IN on December 6, 1942, to Ralph Armey & Georgia Roush (Swisher). Raised by Georgia and George Swisher, he grew up in Bluffton, IN, received his Bachelor's degree from Purdue University in Lafayette, IN and his JD from Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington, IN. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War as a submariner, and received a National Defense Service Medal.

Michael was an Attorney for many years in Warsaw, IN. Mr. Armey was a member and past president of the Optimist Club, past member of the Indiana Bar Association, and member of First United Methodist Church in Warsaw, IN. He enjoyed going to Chicago Cubs games, was an avid Purdue football & basketball fan, and road tripped to every major sports hall of fame. He also enjoyed downhill skiing, collecting art, and exploring Indiana craft breweries.

He is survived by his son, Lane (Vanessa) Armey of Citrus Heights, California; daughter, Amanda (Dan) Goldstein of Greenfield, IN; sister Carol Schaafsma of Honolulu, Hawaii; four grandchildren, Caroline, Vivian, Carly, & Allie; and long-time partner Dinah Armey. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant son Kevin Armey.

Services will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the World Wildlife Federation, c/o of World Wildlife Fund, 1250 Twenty fourth Street, N.W., P.O. Box 97180, Washington, DC 20090-7180.
