Michael J. Cammarano

Michael J. Cammarano, 67, of Whiting died on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Manahawkin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stafford Twp.
Michael was born on Staten Island NY and lived in Metuchen for twenty-three years, graduating from Metuchen High School in 1975 and Middlesex County College in 1977 with an associate's degree in radiation technology. He worked at several hospitals in New Jersey, Texas, Maryland, and California, and managed several hospital X-ray departments prior to moving to Whiting. In his first job, at St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick New Jersey, he met Marie Havran, a coworker. The two fell in love and enjoyed forty-four years of marriage together.
Mike was predeceased by his daughter Amie Cammarano; a sister Peggy Philips, and his parents Frank and Margaret (nee Dicks) Cammarano.
Surviving is his wife, Marie; a son Michael J. Cammarano; a grandson Michael J. Cammarano III; his brothers and sisters Theresa, Frank (Debbie), John, Joe, Leon (Dawn), Peter (Diane), Maryanne (Dwayne); and brother-in-law Pete Phillips. He is also survived by more than a dozen nieces and nephews.
True to Mike's always good-hearted nature, the family asks that in lieu of flowers friends and relatives who wish to pay tribute to him do so by enjoying life a bit more than usual and to think fondly of him whenever you are having a fun family gathering, attending a concert, sitting on the beach, enjoying a round of golf, or going on a wild amusement ride.
Private arrangements are under the direction of the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home of Metuchen.
