Michael J. "Mike" Czochara, age 55, a resident of Naperville, IL since 2007, formerly of Chicago and Tinley Park, IL, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024, at his home surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born April 28, 1969, in Oak Lawn, IL.
Beloved husband of Susan C. Czochara (nee Steinberger), whom he married on September 13, 2003, loving father of Cate (16) and Evan (12), devoted son of Jackie (nee Pierczynski) and the late Edward J. Czochara, son-in-law of Bob and Nancy Steinberger of Naperville, loving brother of Lynda Roush of Santa Clarita, CA and Jan Czochara of Richmond, KY, brother-in-law of Kurt (Ashley) Steinberger of Clayton, NC, adored uncle of Ethan and Zachary Roush; Charlie and Parker Steinberger, dear nephew of Jerry (Janet) Pierczynski, Arthur (Joni) Pierce, Frank (Joyce) Pierczynski, Norbert (Lorelei) Pierczynski, Daniel (Betty) Pierczynski, Gregory (Carol) Pierce, Steve (Joan) Pierczynski, Michelle (the late Richard) Ward, the late Adeline (the late Werner) Schmidt and the late Caroline (Leroy) Miller, fond cousin and friend of many.
Mike grew up in Chicago's Archer Heights neighborhood and attended St. Bruno Catholic Grade School. The family moved to Tinley Park in 1978 and Mike attended Kirby Elementary School, Virgil I. Grissom Middle School and was a 1987 graduate of Victor J. Andrew High School. Mike received his undergraduate degree from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb and his MBA from University of Illinois Chicago.
Mike worked many years in the financial services industry, including 26 years with Goldman Sachs. He was an avid fan of the Chicago White Sox and NIU Huskies and enjoyed tailgating, biking and one line texting. Most of all he loved watching Cate and Evan compete in various sporting events.
Every room he entered instantly became the room to be in. Spirits lifted, jokes were told, great conversations were had, and epic ball busting ensued and he crushed it every time. He was consistently the funniest human being alive. He could and would make you laugh so deeply, even in the darkest of situations. His quick wit and level of sarcasm were unmatched.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, 9:30-10:30 AM at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1500 Brookdale Rd., Naperville.
A Memorial Mass will follow Friday, 10:30 AM in the church.
Private inurnment: Assumption Cemetery, Wheaton, IL

This beautifully written obituary is so true. Michael was always a pleasure to talk and laugh with. My heart is so sad at our losing him at such a young age. I pray for God´s strength and mercy for Susan and the kids. Michael will always be remembered and missed by those of us who had the privilege to know him.
