Michael W. DuPont

Michael W. DuPont, age 44, of Lynn, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023. He was the son of Wayne DuPont and his wife Diane of Punta Gorda, FL and the late Lorraine (Russo) Desrochers.
Michael was a loving son, father, partner, and brother. In addition to his father and step-mother, he is survived by his children; Kelsey DuPont of Nashua, NH, Michael DuPont, Jr. of Revere and Tyler DuPont of Swampscott; his fiancée, Tara MacDonald of Lynn; his siblings, Nicholette DuPont, Robert Desrochers and Delia Desrochers; as well as his grandmother, Dolores Webber.
Michael was a graduate of Chelsea High School, class of 1997. He founded DuPont Home Improvement in Lynn just three years ago and swiftly rose to prominence as a leading contractor on the north shore. His business allowed him to form strong connections within the community, earning the affection and respect of both customers and employees. With a generous heart, Michael consistently shared his success, ensuring his friends and family were always cared for.
Michael faced years of substance abuse challenges. Remarkably, he achieved sobriety and maintained it for the last five years of his life. Throughout his journey to recovery, he mentored numerous individuals battling addiction. Michael's deep care and commitment helped many find their path to sobriety. He was a living testament to the power of determination and the belief that it's never too late to change.
His visiting hours will be held on Saturday, September 23rd from 12PM-4PM in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 67 Ocean St (Rt 1A), Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Herren Project, PO Box 131, Portsmouth, RI 02871 or to any local addiction recovery program.
