Michael A. Fanning

Michael A. Fanning, of Norwell, passed away on June 24, 2025 at the age of 33. He was the loving son of Maria E. (Viola) and Mark E. Fanning. Brother of Ember Dragnell of Norwell. Beloved partner to Peggy Gregorakos and Father of Michael A. Fanning, Jr.
Michael was raised in Norwell where he was a graduate of Norwell High School. He then went on to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Arts, History, and Social Science from Eastern Connecticut State University.
Michael was a man with a good soul who would always look out for others especially people who were bullied and left out. He was kind and supporting of others. Michael was a talented lacrosse player, playing for his college team and winning two LEC Titles. Then going on to coach with the Kings Club Youth Lacrosse. He also loved playing on a men's lacrosse team The Riptides out of Rhode Island. He was also a very dedicated Union Worker for Indus in Braintree, Local 133.
He especially enjoyed as a child going to Sanibel Island in Florida and many family vacations on Cape Cod. His favorite vacation of all was Turks and Caicos. Above all Michael loved spending time with his son, Peggy, and Chick. He enjoyed teaching his son fishing, catching beach crabs, building sand castles, and having fires.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd from 4:00PM-7:00PM at Sullivan Funeral Home in Hanover - 551 Washington St., Rt. 53. A funeral mass will begin at 10:00AM at Our Lady of the Angels Parish (St. Mary's) - 392 Hanover St. Burial will be private.
