Michael was born in Warsaw, Poland on December 23, 1958, to the late Bronislaw and Danuta (Nowotny) Janiszewski. In 1968, Michael's family emigrated from Poland to the United States. This decision enabled him to go on to graduate from Columbia University, and later receive his M.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine.
Michael began his career working as an emergency room physician, first at Waterbury Hospital and then at Manchester Memorial Hospital. In October 2005, Michael founded MedSpa 1064, a cosmetic rejuvenation medical practice in Glastonbury, Connecticut. The mission of the practice was to provide personalized, patient-centered care, and countless patients expressed their excitement for their visits with 'Dr. J.' As a testament to Michael's hard work and dedication over the past 19 years, MedSpa 1064 won 'Best of Hartford' year after year.
Michael was a dedicated husband, a loving father, and an inspiring mentor and friend. He enjoyed traveling (especially to Italy), meals with family and friends, car shows, and skiing. Michael adored his large, Albanian family that he married into. Michael always had the right words for any situation, providing his loved ones with invaluable advice and compassion. He will forever be remembered for his smile, generosity, and humor.
Michael is survived by his wife Dr. Zife Krosi; his son Andre Janiszewski and daughter-in-law Katrina (Ellis) Janiszewski; his daughter Eva Janiszewski; and his daughter Juliette Janiszewski.
Michael bravely fought glioblastoma in the last six months of his life, yet his vibrant personality and admiration for his family never wavered. Michael's love and impact will remain eternal.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main St. S., Southbury, CT 06488. A private burial service will take place on Monday, February 3, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to a charity or place of worship of your choice.
