Michael Shane Killgo

Michael Shane Killgo, 55, of Pampa, slid into the home of Jesus, Thursday, February 3, 2022, in Amarillo, Texas.
Celebration of life services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Pampa, with Pastor Dillon Hill, pastor of Faith Bible Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 PM-7:30 PM.
Michael was born on November 6, 1966, to Gwin and Harold (Hugo) Killgo, in Roswell, New Mexico. Michael was the only son among three lovely sisters, so they thought he was special. He lived in Roswell and his family moved to Pampa when he was in the third grade. Michael played baseball, basketball and football growing up, but was an avid baseball player. He graduated from Pampa High School and attended one semester at College of the Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico, where he played baseball.
Michael met his heart's companion, Kathryn Bronner, in June 1983 and they began dating. They married on November 8, 1986, in Pampa. They moved for a short time to Hugoton, Kansas, where he hauled mud for United Mud. They moved back to Pampa, and he worked for Coca-Cola, then learned the fine trade of machining at Jones-Everett Machine Company. He worked for a short time in Borger at Diversified Industrial Services Company, then worked for several years for Dunlap Industrial, all being a machinist. He soon began his 15 year job at Titan Specialties as a skilled manual machinist, where he could turn a piece of metal into whatever oilfield tool that was needed for any job. He changed careers in 2016, maintaining and climbing wind turbines for four years, then moved to a wind site manager position in Balko, Oklahoma a couple of years ago.
Michael and Kathryn have two sons, Mitchell and Collin, who came and lit up their worlds in 1992 and 1994, respectively. Being raised with three sisters, Michael forbade Kathryn to have girls!! They were avid softball players, taking their boys to nearly every game and tournament, with their softball family from April to October every year. Michael's softball buddies nicknamed him "Meat" all those years ago, and they still call him that to this day.
Michael taught Mitchell and Collin everything he knew about baseball (along with golf, football, basketball, or any sport that involved a ball). Many people have said if you were a Killgo, you HAD to play ball. He also coached baseball at Optimist Club for 10 years, coaching many, many young boys and mentoring to them along the way. He went on to build a huge building to house a batting cage and a pitching machine, teaching better batting techniques to get a hit, even after his sons graduated. He has coached so many, young men still call him Coach, and his Grandpa name is even "Coach" !!
Michael was a brash, stubborn, and very outspoken man, but had a big, strong, loving heart. He never had a problem apologizing, IF he found out he was wrong. That was very extraordinary about him. Michael loved the ocean, his family, and life. He was so full of life, and everything he did was over the top !!
Michael was a member of First Christian Church for 34 years, and a member of Faith Bible Church for the past 2 1/2 years. He was a Christian, and a good, good loving man who will be missed by so many.
Michael is preceded in death by his Dad, Hugo; his grandparents; his favorite mother-in-law, Sandra; and brother-in-law, Patrick; great niece, Blaykely.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Kathryn of the home; 2 sons, Mitchell Killgo and wife Kaci of Amarillo and Collin Killgo and wife Rylee of Pampa; five adorable grandkids, Liam, Jaxx, McKynzley, Knoxx and Haze; his mother, Gwin Killgo of Hobbs, New Mexico; his sisters, Starla Nunez and husband Henry of Haslet, Tobi Owens and husband Steve of Hobbs, NM, and Heidi Killgo of Post Falls, ID; father-in-law, David Bronner of Pampa; sister-in-law, Jenny Bronner and husband Dennis Norris of Pampa; nieces and nephews, Erin and husband Jeremiah Christianson, Jeneé and husband Clint Devoll, Ali and husband Brent Roberson, Derek Norris, Cheyenne Rush, Trevor Nunez, Taryn Nunez and wife Katie, Shaylan Savell, MaKenzie and husband Robert Perez, Jordan Savell and Mackenzye, Jarron Savell and Kynzi, Alexa Tegeda, Tahny Barela, and Gabriel Miller; and many great nieces and nephews; Alyssa, Jacey, Bristol, Rayden, Hudson, Teagan, Sawyer, Harbour, Lucas, Ramzy, Jaden, Lathyn, Paxtyn, Kade, J. J., and Naleigh; and numerous beloved aunts and uncles.
