Michael E. "Kunick" Kunicki

Michael E. "Kunick" Kunicki, 75, of Apollo, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born November 18, 1949 in New Kensington, he was a son of the late Edward Kunicki and Mary (Kallock) Kunicki.
Mike was a 1967 graduate of Kiski Area High School, and proudly served our country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a crane operator for the Vandergrift Foundry, and after it closed, worked in the same position at the Hyde Park Foundry.
Mike loved fishing, and enjoyed playing scratch-off lottery tickets. He was a jack-of-all-trades and could fix anything. Mike also liked watching Pittsburgh sports, especially the Pirates, Penguins, and Pitt Panthers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Emmett Michael Beatty; and an infant sister, Dorothy Ann.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Bonnie R. (Shedlock) Kunicki; daughters, Holly M. Kunicki of Greensburg, Kristy A. Kunicki of North Apollo; grandchildren, Zane, Kaylie, Shawn, Luke, Paisley, Aria; sisters, Lorraine (John) Feeney of Salem, OH, Dee (Rich) Scheideman of Columbus, OH; and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Ave. Apollo. Additional visitation will be held in the funeral home on Friday, January 31, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Phil Ramstad officiating. Following the services, military honors will be accorded by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard. Private interment in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo.
