Michael Robert Lowe

Michael Robert Lowe, age 52, of Pocahontas, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at his home following a lengthy illness.
Michael was born in Bluefield, West Virginia, on November 10, 1970, and was the son of Robert Reece Lowe and the late Virginia Ann Brown Lowe. Michael graduated from Pocahontas High School and spent most of his life as an auto body specialist and mechanic, and he loved to work with his hands. He was a loving husband, son, father, and grandfather who dearly loved his family. Michael had a way with kids; they were drawn to him and his joyful spirit. He loved to tell jokes; if you were having a bad day, he would always lighten your spirit. He never knew a stranger, and he always put others before himself. One thing, though, if he knew he was right, he would argue his point until you agreed with him and then joke about how he knew he was right to begin with.
In addition to his mother, his sister, Karen Keen, preceded him in death.

The funeral service for Michael Lowe will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Tazewell, with the minister Rita French officiating. Interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, Virginia. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. The family will begin receiving friends at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home before the service.
