Michael "Mike" W. Short, 95, passed away peacefully at home with his wife, Mona, by his side. He was born in Navarino, WI, on the family farm to the late Albert and Jenny (Rudzinski) Short, on September 8, 1928. Mike graduated Bonduel High School in 1947. After high school, he served 2 years in the Army. Michael married the love of his life Ramona "Mona" Mroczynski on June 1, 1957. They spent 67 wonderful years together.
Michael worked at Fort Howard Paper Mill for 29 years. In his younger years, he liked to hunt and fish. He loved to fish on the bay and Lake Michigan. He also enjoyed gardening and taking care of his lawn.
Michael was very proud of all his sons, grandchildren, and great grand children. He was survived by his wife, Ramona; his sons, David (Doreen), Jim (Joan), Patrick, Tom, Paul (Pam), and Bill (Zsofia); brother in-law, Norbert Mroczynski; sister in-law, Carol Vissers; 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 8 siblings, and his daughter in-law, Lisa Short.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Jenson and AseraCare Hospice for all the care and support given to Mike during this time.
There will be a Catholic Mass at St. John the Baptist Church in Howard on Friday August 30th. Visitation starting at 10 am, followed by mass at 11:30.
