Michael Mota

Michael A Mota, 42, passed away on Sunday February 9, 2025, at MD Anderson in Houston Texas. Michael was born on July 7, 1982, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Jose Guadalupe Mota Frias and Ann Marie Alvarez Mota.
Michael was a 2001 graduate of Foy H. Moody High school. He was employed with West Oso ISD for the past 18 years, where he was affectionately known as "Bear Mike" "Uncle Mike" to the students and staff of WOE campus.
Michael enjoyed spending time with family and friends whether it was in or out of town. He made time to visit and make memories with everyone. He loved to cook especially when it came to barbeque which was his specialty. He was a true and loyal Dallas Cowboys fan; win or lose he never missed a game and always hoping for a win and Super Bowl ring.
Michael will always be remembered for his love of laughter, sense of humor and adventure, his delicious food, his strong faith in God, but most importantly his devotion to his family, especially his mom, sister and his nephews. He would go above and beyond for them. He was always ready to help others no matter the situation. Even when he was sick, he would step up and help family and friends. He would always put others before him.
Michael was a very loving and amazing son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. He was absolutely an angel. He was and will always be our family's Guardian Angel.
Michael is preceded in death by his father, Jose Guadalupe Mota Frias. Paternal grandparents, José Mota Olmos and Guadalupe Frías Hernández de Mota. Maternal grandparents Filiberto Álvarez and Lorenza Maciel Álvarez and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins that have preceded him.
Michael is survived by his mother, Ann Marie Mota, sister LeeAnn Mota-Garza, brother-in-law Manuel Garza, nephews, John Xavier, and Gabriel Alexander. Cousins who were more like sisters, Cecilia Mota, and Gabrielle Mota Vaiz (Philip Vaiz). Aunts and Uncles: María M Meza (Nena), José Eduardo & Carmen Mota, Pedro & Angela Mota, Gerardo & María Ramírez, Ignacio & Mercedes Mota, Alejandro & Carolina Mota, María Juana Mota González, Abelardo & Susana Mota. Godchildren: Nicholas and Noah Bazaldua, Ensley García, Mark and Erica Bejaran, Chloe Maldonado, Jazzmin Ayers, Devin Rodríguez. He is also survived by a numerous number of cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm on Monday February 17, 2025, at Corpus Christi Funeral home. A rosary will be recited at 7pm that same evening. A funeral mass will be held at 12:30 on Tuesday February 18th at Our Lady Pilar Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Jose Hernandez, Jose Guadalupe Ramirez, Michael Wayne Morris, John David Martinez, Jose Landeros, Carlos Landeros.
Honorary pallbearers are John and Gabriel Mota, Nicholas and Noah Bazaldua, Troy Graza and Philip Vaiz Jr.
