Michael Shannon Mutter

Michael Shannon Mutter, age 48 of Bluefield, VA died Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, WV. He was born November 17, 1973 in Bluefield, WV and was a son of Ella Faye Mutter Osborne of Tazewell, VA and the late Charles Arthur Mutter, Sr. Mr. Mutter was a United States Army Veteran of the Global War on Terrorism and the Kosovo Campaign. He was a Tank Commander and had achieved much in his military career having earned many awards and medals for his faithful service. Shannon was an avid sportsman who enjoyed many sports, to include deep sea diving and parachuting. He had worked as a Computer Logistic Technician for the United States Medicaid Program. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Dwayne Mutter and Steven Thomas Mutter; sister-in-law, Kelly Marie Mutter.
In addition to his mother, Ella Faye Mutter Osborne and her husband, Sherman Osborne, those who survive to cherish his memory include four sons, Adyn Mutter of the home, Xavier Mutter, Braxton Mutter of Tazewell, VA and Nicholas Mutter of Bend, OR; one brother, Charlie Mutter of Bluefield, WV; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive.
Graveside Services for Michael Shannon Mutter will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA with Pastor Chris White officiating; burial will follow the graveside service. Family members and friends will serve as Pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Tazewell, VA from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2022. Those wishing to travel with the family in procession are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:30 p.m.
Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by Members of the Barns-Beavers VFW Post #7136 in Tazewell, VA.
