Michael Ripberger

Michael Ripberger, 77, of New Castle, passed away, Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Reid Hospital in Richmond. He was born April 26, 1948, in New Castle to Arthur and Helena (Rismiller) Ripberger.
Mike was a graduate of Knightstown High School and was an automotive technician who worked at Goodwin Dodge. Mike served in the U.S. Army as an Airborne Ranger until he was released from active duty and returned to State control as a member of the Indiana National Guard where he completed his service obligation and was honorably discharged.
Mike was a devoted husband, father, and papaw. His time was most favorably spent playing and interacting with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren throughout the years. He made countless trips to the park, endless play and teaching them how to drive. He was a force of love, a constant presence of support and had a lasting impression on the family's hearts forever.
Mike is survived by his wife Patricia (Drake) Ripberger, whom he married August 4, 1978, daughter Jennifer Bond, son Michael D. Ripberger; grandchildren: Brandi Kidd, Sarah Wince, Tamara (Tim) Van Meter, Matthew Logsdon (cherry picked by choice) great-grandchildren: Conner, Amiyah, Ellie, Rowan, Keaton, Remi and Evie; siblings: Karen Boyle, John (Connie) Ripberger; sisters-in-law: Connie (Randy) Brown, Neenah (Toney) Spiker, Beverly Groce, Jayan (late husband Tom) Drake.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Helena Ripberger, father-in-law William Drake, mother-in-law Bonnie Drake and brother-in-law Tom Drake.
In keeping with Michael's wishes a simple cremation will take place.
