Michael Arnold Roberts

Michael “Mike” Roberts, a loving husband, father, brother, and grandpa; was born on January 17, 1950, at Munson Army Hospital, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas to the late Van and Elsie (Arnold) Roberts.

Mike grew up and attended schools in Leavenworth. Throughout high school, he was a starter on the Leavenworth High School basketball team. He then graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. Following graduation, Mike worked in the pest control industry before transitioning to management roles in the food production industry.

Mike loved the outdoors, having a good time, and wasn’t one to sit around. In the winter, he loved to downhill ski, and when there wasn’t good snow, he would throw on his snowshoes. In the summer months he enjoyed camping, hiking, and the Sturgis motorcycle rally with his friends. At any time of year, he loved riding his Harleys and taking motorcycle trips with his son, brother, brothers-in-law, and friends. Mike truly cherished his time with family and friends.

Mike passed away March 21, 2025. Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted, loving wife, Debra; daughter, Michele Leaden (Jim); son, Todd Roberts (Sianna); grandsons, Cameron Leaden, Tucker Leaden and Michael Roberts; his brother, Van Roberts III (Alice); sister-in-law, Virginia Powell (Marty); brothers-in law, Rodney Atherly and Randall Atherly. He is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lutheran Foundation. The gifts will be credited to the Lutheran Cancer Services Fund, which will be utilized locally and indirectly support the staff at the Cancer Centers of Colorado who took very compassionate care of Mike.
