Michael Schoshinski Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Michael John Schoshinski, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Sunday, July 20, 2025. Born on May 19, 1963, Mike grew up as the second oldest among four children by James and Carol Schoshinski of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Mike graduated college from Marquette University in Milwaukee, then went on to earn his Pharm.D from UCSF. He spent the subsequent twenty-four years employed by Stanford Hospital & Clinics as a clinical pharmacist specializing in the lCU.
Growing up as a young boy, he lived across the street from Lambeau Field which forged him into an ardent and life-long Green Bay Packers fan and season tickets holder. His career path took him to California Bay Area, where he moved with his family in 1997. As he settled into San Francisco, Mike grew his allegiance to the SF Giants, attending home games all season long, and Spring Training year over year in Scottsdale, AZ. He loved nothing more than to spend time with cherished friends at his favorite bars, Gino & Carlo, in North Beach, and McCarthy's on West Portal. He was a regular for two decades at his favorite restaurant, Tia Margarita, where he savored Mexican food and the sipped the best margaritas in town. And, although he was a "man about town," Mike was a grill master at home, always tinkering with new methods and recipes.
Since his late teenage years, Mike followed the Grateful Dead around the country and continued to blast their music in his Man Cave at every opportunity. He played in the SF Dart League for 27 years, enjoyed downhill skiing in the winter, long walks on the beach in New Smyrna Beach, FL, and fair-weather fishing on his beloved Underwood Lake where his family has owned a cottage for three generations.
While many called Mike a "best friend," Mike used to say he had no best friends, only "authentic friends." Those people are too numerous to count, and he was an earnest and loyal friend who would do anything for the people he held dear to his heart.
Mike is survived by his wife, Sharon Tung, and his daughter, Pascale Schoshinski. While Mike has departed this earthly realm, the three Cheesehead Musketeers will always be bound together in love and spirit and unending incredible memories. He is also survived by his parents, James and Carol Schoshinski, his brothers, Steve and Scott, and his sister, Beth.
