Michael Serbousek Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery Funeral Home on Dec. 16, 2025.
Michael William Serbousek, 56, of Anamosa, died Wednesday December 10 at the University Nebraska Medical Center. Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 17, 2025 at Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom 4200 First Ave NE Cedar Rapids, IA from 4-7 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday December 18, 2025 at St Jude Catholic Church 50 Edgewood Rd NW Cedar Rapids, IA. Burial: Private at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

He is survived by his two sons, Garrett and Tyler Serbousek, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, along with his daughter Sarah Serbousek, and son Carson Serbousek of Anamosa. He was to be married to his loving and supportive fiancée, Sherry Williams, also of Anamosa. He is also survived by his parents William and Patricia Serbousek of Cedar Rapids, and his brother Steve (wife-Pip) Serbousek of Fairfax, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Miller.

Michael was born August 18, 1969, the son of William and Patricia (Miller) Serbousek in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids. He was employed with Cornerstone Building Products in Monticello, Iowa. Michael enjoyed the simple pleasures of a nice cigar while drinking a cold beer or cup of coffee. He was an avid music lover and drummer for 40 years playing in various rock bands and touring throughout Eastern Iowa. When the opportunity arose, he enjoyed taking Sherry for motorcycle rides in the winding hills of Northeast Iowa/SW Wisconsin, singing karaoke, going to music festivals, and local band gigs with friends.

Michael lived his life to the fullest of his capabilities. He enjoyed reading various articles, fishing with Carson, and going on father/daughter dates with Sarah. His wit, charm, smile, free-spiritedness, and zest of the laid-back, simple life will be missed by all. He should be an example of how, even though the stressors of life can get you down, it should be attempted to be lived to its fullest.
