Michael James Shearer

Michael J. Shearer passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 7, 2024 in York, PA. He was born on June 4, 1975 in York, PA and had recently been living in Florida. He was the son of James "Butch" Shearer and Brenda (Diehl Shearer. He was a 1993 graduate of Dallastown Area High School, a 1997 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Administration of Justice. He then attended the Baltimore Co. Police Academy and was a Baltimore Co. police officer for a few years. After this he attended West Chester University and achieved a degree in teaching Health, Phys ED. and Coaching. He was employed for many years as a girl's volleyball coach at various colleges including the College of Charleston, Eastern Michigan University and St. Leo University in Tampa Florida. In his spare time Michael enjoyed playing golf as often as possible as well as watching any great sporting competition, particularly PSU Volleyball and Football.
He is survived by his parents, a sister, Jodi Kresge (Trevor), niece, Rylan, nephew, Reece, and many loving friends. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Rowan Kresge.
