Michael Gary Steger passed away peacefully on the morning of November 23, 2024. Michael was born on November 6, 1967, in Buffalo, NY. Michael was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and loved watching the team. Growing up Michael was a competitive swimmer and soccer player in middle school and high school, and he also played football in high school for Parkway South High School in St. Louis. Michael loved the lake and owned a boat and lake house, where he would enjoy to spend his time with his family. Michael loved the weather, sports and looking at the mountains. He also loved county and rock music, and his favorite band was Def Leppard.
He graduated from the University of Missouri in St. Louis in 1992. After graduation he moved to Atlanta, GA where he began the start of his successful sales career at Telemate Software. Afterwards he worked at McKesson Corporation as a Senior Sales Executive where he was a President's Club Achiever 9 times and National Salesman of the year in 2004. He would go on many sales calls with his Mother while at McKesson and formed many great friendships while at the company. He met his wife, Julia Lawson, while working there and they were married on August 14, 1999. Michael's son, Joshua, was born a year later in 2000. Michael later settled down in Cumming, GA where he raised his family. He is survived by his parents Gary and Ellen (Bentley) Steger, brother Christopher (Allison Ring) and former wife Julia Lawson who had reconciled with Michael for the past three years and they had current plans to remarry. He is also survived by his daughter Lexi (and husband Jeremy Adams), and Joshua (and wife Sara Steger) and one grandchild Lane Adams and Christopher Steger's sons (Jacob and Christian) and daughter (Hannah). The family will receive friends and family at the McDonald and Son Funeral Home, 150 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, GA 3004 on Tuesday, November 26th from 12:30 to 3 and from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The service will be held at the funeral home at 9 a.m. on Wednesday November 27th.
