Michael A. Tantillo

Michael A. Tantillo, 53 years old, known affectionately as Mike by those who knew him best, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024, in his hometown of Leominster, Massachusetts. Born on October 1, 1971, to Salvatore and Mary (Marchetti) Tantillo, Mike's life was one marked by adventure, kindness, and an unwavering love for his family, friends, and community.
A proud graduate of Leominster High School, class of 1990, Mike's entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to service led him to become the beloved owner and operator of Mike's Canteen Truck for over a decade. His hard work and warm smile became a staple throughout the city, as he served up not just food, but also camaraderie and a helping hand to anyone in need.
Mike's zest for life took him on many journeys across the United States. From the sun-soaked streets of Key West to the bustling energy of New York City, and the diverse cultures of Michigan and Chicago, he embraced each new experience with an open heart and an insatiable curiosity. His love for travel was paralleled only by his passion for the ocean, swimming, and sports. An avid sportsman, Mike's competitive spirit shone brightly when he was a member of the Leominster Little League State Championship team in 1984, a memory that he cherished throughout his life.
Family was the cornerstone of Mike's world. His father, Salvatore, his mother, Mary, and his sister, Tara, alongside many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends in Leominster, New York City and Chicago, were the fabric of his existence. He treasured the moments spent with them, whether it was a simple family dinner, a raucous game night, or quiet conversations that lasted into the wee hours of the night. Mike's presence was a source of joy and comfort, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to be woven into the tapestry of his life.
Those who knew Mike would describe him as adventurous, thoughtful, and spirited. He approached each day with a sense of purpose and a desire to make the world a kinder place. A funeral mass for Michael will be held on Friday, November 22nd from the Richardson Funeral Home, 106 West St Leominster, with a Funeral Mass at 11am at St. Anna Church, 194 Lancaster St. Leominster. Burial will be at a later date. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday, November 21st from 4~ 7pm. In Lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude’s`s Children`s Hospital.
