Michael Bryce Taylor

Michael Bryce Taylor returned to his Heavenly Father, where he was joyfully reunited with his beloved wife and daughter on Monday, December 16, 2024. Bryce was born on August 6, 1981, in Ogden, Utah, to loving parents Larry and Margo Champneys Taylor. He spent his childhood in Layton, Utah, and graduated from Northridge High School with the Class of 1999.

Bryce married his high school sweetheart, Christine “Chrissie” Rigley, on September 17, 1999, sealing their love for eternity in the Logan, Utah Temple. They were blessed with three cherished children, Landen Michael Taylor, Cooper Bryce Taylor, and Kylie Christine Taylor—whom they adored. Kylie was called home to her Heavenly Father first, and Chrissie soon followed, reuniting mother and daughter in eternal peace.

In time, Bryce found love again with Michelle “Shelly” Plowman, who brought new light to his life. Her children, Vander and Seneca quickly claimed his heart. On March 5, 2021, they married and were sealed in the Ogden Temple, beginning a new chapter filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Bryce’s sense of purpose led him to the Ogden City Police Department in 2003, where he began a distinguished 21-year career. He served honorably as a Patrol Officer, Detective, and Evidence Technician. His unwavering commitment, compassion, and camaraderie enriched the department and left a lasting impression on colleagues, the community, and all who knew him.

Bryce’s life was a testament to the quiet strength of kindness, family, and love. He tackled each challenge with enthusiasm, patience, and know-how, always ready with a reassuring smile and helping hands.

Above all, he was a family man—an attentive father, a devoted husband, a loving son, a caring brother, and a source of warmth and laughter. His calm presence and unwavering generosity reached well beyond those he held dear, leaving friends, neighbors, and his community stronger and more hopeful.

Bryce’s great, enveloping bear hugs had a way of making the world’s troubles vanish, leaving those he held feeling profoundly loved, safe, and at peace.

In the quiet moments that follow his passing, the memory of Bryce’s gentle spirit will remain a guiding light for all who knew him. His kindness, woven into everyday gestures and simple acts of service, will inspire others to show empathy and support where it’s needed. Families will draw closer, friends will lend a helping hand, and neighbors will extend warmth to strangers because he led by example. Though he no longer walks beside us, the lessons he shared, the laughter he sparked, and the love he freely gave will live on, shaping those he cherished for generations to come.

Bryce is survived by his wife, Shelly and their children, Landen (Annie), Cooper, Vander, and Seneca; his parents, Larry and Margo Taylor; and his three sissies, Heidi (Rich) Jackson, Traci (Jason) Treasure, and Autumn (Jeremy) Freeman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Chrissie and daughter, Kylie.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints West Haven Chapel, 3271 West 2550 South. Friends may visit with family on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Rd.
