Michele D. Januska, passed away at the age of 73, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Edward Hospital, with the love of her family by her side. Michele was born on October 3, 1950, the daughter of the late Frank and Marion (nee Gehlen) Wilkowski. Born and raised in Chicago, Michele was a graduate of Kelly High School. She worked for Nabisco retiring in 2003 after 31 dedicated years.
Michele loved spending time with her family more than anything. She will be remembered for always having a sense of humor, enjoying her time going to the Casino, and for the delicious foods she created in the kitchen. She was a strong, caring, loving woman who will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Michele is survived by her loving significant other, Charles Januska; daughter, Tracy (Robert) Helson; Seven grandchildren, Samantha Simons, Alexis (Kody) Voda, Kaylee (Fiance Alisac Nieves) Helson, Amanda Helson, Robert (Juan) Helson, the late Bradley Helson and Ashlea Helson; eight great-grandchildren, Odin, Elijah, Delilah, Drexel, Charlotte, Raiden, Zayla Michele, and Sofia Michele; sister, Mary Louise (the late Joseph) Cehoda; brother-in-law, James Krikava; nieces, Dawn (David) Gifford and Linda (Scott) Lynn; great-nephew, Brandon (Savanah) Lynn; and her devoted canine companion, "Bella". Numerous lifelong close friends also survive.
She is preceded by her parents; grandson, Bradley Helson; her sister, Diane Krikava; and brother-in-law, Joseph Cehoda.
Visitation for Michele D. Januska will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 5:00 p.m. As it was her request, cremation rites will be accorded following the services.
