Michele G. Severson

Michele Germaine (Marconi) Severson, 72, of Vernon, CT entered into eternal rest while at home, with a rosary in her hands, on Monday, December 15, 2025. She was born in Wilmington, Delaware on September 1, 1953, to the late Anthony and Thelma (King) Marconi.
While growing up in Phoenix, Arizona, Michele attended Saint Matthew Catholic School, and later graduated from Saint Mary's Catholic High School in 1971. She worked in various roles at American Express while studying at Arizona State University, where she thrived academically. She graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor's Degree in English and an undergraduate minor in the Humanities. Later, at the same university, she completed graduate level coursework in the Humanities. Throughout her life, Michele loved to share in conversation and laughter, including in a lively exchange of ideas.
In 1989, Michele married Raymond Severson, and moved to Tolland, Connecticut. In 1992, they had one daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Severson, whom she loved dearly. A lifelong learner and an avid reader, she used the beauty and wisdom of the 'Great Books' to form her daughter at home, both spiritually and academically. Michele and Sarah enjoyed going on trips together to Arizona, Florida, and Rockport, Massachusetts.
Michele is survived by: her beloved daughter Sarah Elizabeth Severson of Vernon, and Sarah's father Raymond Severson of Meriden; her brother Peter Marconi and his wife Karen, of Phoenix, Arizona; and her nieces and nephews - Dennis Marconi, Andrew Marconi, Galina Marconi, Tony Marconi, Nick Marconi, Michele Dunlap, and Tony Dunlap. They mourn the loss of a mother, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt who loved her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her sister Rosemary Marconi Cleveland; two of her brothers - Thomas Marconi and William Marconi; and her niece, Heather Dunlap.
Devoted to Our Lady, Michele's life was marked by an abiding love of Christ and His Church.
Family and friends may call at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, on Sunday, December 28, 2025 from 4:00 to 6:00 P.M., with a rosary service at 5:30 P.M. A Requiem Mass will be offered on Monday, December 29, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Lawrence Chapel, 1001 Foster Street Extension, South Windsor. Interment will follow at Saint Bernard Cemetery in Vernon.
In lieu of flowers, her daughter requests that donations be made in her memory to the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles, Abbey of Our Lady of Ephesus, 8005 NW 316th, Gower, Missouri 64454.
