Michelle Lee Swegheimer, age 36, of Dover died Friday, August 12, 2022, in Hennis Care Center at Bolivar following a brief illness.
Born in Union Hospital at Dover, Michelle was a daughter of the late Paul F. Austin, Sr. and Barbara A. Cool Austin.
Michelle was a 2004 graduate of Claymont High School and had previously been employed as a housekeeper by Union Hospital at Dover and also worked as a supervisor with the Influent Call Center.
On September 15, 2012, Michelle married Parker Swegheimer and together the couple had a son, Logan who was the light of her life.
Michelle enjoyed the simple things in life, and greatly cherished times spent camping and boating with her family. She enjoyed trips to the beach, attending wine tastings, being pampered by getting her hair and nails done, and rarely passed on the opportunity to add to her collection of snowmen and dolphins.
In addition to her husband and son, Michelle is survived by her siblings, Jennifer Meese, Judith (David) Redman, Paul Austin, Jr., Tiffaney Austin, Cody (Kayla Grove) Fox, Blaze Fox, David (Hannah Porter) Austin, and David Quarles; her step-father, Melvin S. Lake, her mother-in-law, Marcia Wenger, father-in-law, Michael Swegheimer; brother-in-law, Seth (Lexi Yoder) Swegheimer; sisters-in-law, Emma Wenger and Elizabeth (Maddi Williams) Swegheimer, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father and mother, Michelle was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Michael Wenger.
The family will greet guests on Thursday, August 18, 2022, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover where a celebration of Michelle's life will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Jerusalem Church Cemetery. Following the services, all are invited to join the family for a meal in the Hospitality Room of the Geib Funeral Center.
