Michiko Borgia, 85, of Burlington, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Complete Care - Marcella.
Michiko is predeceased by her mother, Tomiko Kawakubo; her loving husband, Joseph Borgia; her father-in-law, Frank Borgia; her mothers-in-law, Theresa Borgia, Carmela Borgia and later Ruth Borgia; and her brothers-in-law, Vincent Pumilio, Anthony Borgia and Henry Iseicz.
Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Michiko met her husband, Joseph, while he was in the Air Force stationed in Japan. After they married, they moved to Trenton, New Jersey and eventually settled in Groveville to raise their family. Michiko was an active member of the PTA and was very dedicated to her children taking them to dance, piano, soccer and later very involved in the Marching Band Parent Boosters for Steinert. She spent many years working in food service at the West Windsor Plainsboro School District. She was an avid knitter and also enjoyed crocheting. When she retired and moved to Homestead in Columbus she played cards, and became part of the knitting club and a Pokeno group and this passion continued when she moved to Brookdale Assisted Living. Michiko absolutely loved dogs, especially her teacup yorkipoo - Belle. She was an avid fisherman with her favorite spots being Manasquan Inlet and Belmar Marina. She was skilled and would always be catching even when everyone around her was not. She was known for making excellent Italian food for the family and loved to shop for a bargain.
Michi is survived by her sisters-in-law, Marie Pumilio, Gaeta Iseicz, Angela Borgia (Phil Walsack), and Genevieve (Donald) Costantino. She is also survived by her daughters, Theresa (Brian) Moldawsky of Towaco NJ, Melissa (Christopher) Manno of Burlington NJ, and JoAnna Borgia of Mt. Holly, NJ; her grandchildren, Jaclyn and Matthew Moldawsky, Zachary Manno (Haley Mae Campbell), Grace Manno (Stanley Zimmerman), Noah and Noelle Manno; her great-granddaughter, Cecilia; her 12 nieces and nephews (including Anthony Jude DiNatale predeceased); and her several cousins.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. A Prayer service will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Saul Colonial Home.
