Mildred Pauline "Polly" Gaskins, 96, of Bremen, died peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2025. She was born March 13, 1929 in Beverly, Ohio, to the late Homer E. and Grace (Reed) DeMent.
Polly was active with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and AMVETS and made it a priority to donate to them yearly. She was hardworking - housesitting and always cleaning houses, mowing grass for others or whatever task might need done - idleness was not a word associated with Polly. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and crocheting.
Polly is survived by her husband of 43 years, Steven Howard Gaskins, whom she married June 22, 1982; son, Eugene Wilson; several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Clyde E. Wilson; sons, Richard and Steven Wilson; sister, Creta; and brothers, Charles, Homer, Frank, Bobby and Syril.
There will be a private burial. Contributions in Polly's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
