Mildred Esther "Millie" Stucky, 96, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Cedars. She was born on December 28, 1927 in McPherson County, Kansas, to Peter J.P. and Esther (Schrag) Schrag.
Millie graduated from McPherson High School with the class of 1945.
She grew up in the Hopefield Mennonite Church in rural Moundridge, where she was baptized in the spring of 1941. Millie later was a member of the First Mennonite Church in McPherson.
Millie was united in marriage to Victor Dale Stucky on December 18, 1947 at the Hopefield Mennonite Church. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2008.
She worked as a Senior Underwriter for Farmer's Alliance Insurance in McPherson for 29 years.
Millie enjoyed sewing quilts, baking cookies, working in the field, milking cows, but above all loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara (Ralph) Shipp of Moberly, MO, and Berneta "Bernie" (Jim) Oliver of Canton; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; brothers, Mervin (Shirley) Schrag of Hesston, Harold "Harry" (Sandy) Schrag of Springfield, MO; sisters, Ruby Becker of Moundridge, Lois (Michael) Cunningham of McPherson; and sister-in-law, Geneva Siefker.
Millie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Peter Schrag Jr., Elmer Schrag, Evie Stucky, Marie Krehbiel, Ruth Krehbiel, and Reuben Schrag; and granddaughter-in-law, Lindsay Oliver.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the First Mennonite Church, McPherson. Family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, December 11, at the church. A private family burial will be held at Hopefield Church Cemetery, rural Moundridge. Memorial contributions may be made to First Mennonite Church or The Gideon's International in care of Glidden-Ediger-Wiggins Funeral Home, 222 W. Euclid, McPherson, KS 67460.
