Miriam Corley

Miriam Elaine Hall Corley, 92, of Laurens, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community.
Miriam was born in Mississippi on March 7, 1933, to the late James Waddell and Alma Thrailkill Hall. She was employed at First National, Spratt Grocery, and retired from the office at Smith Chevrolet. Miriam was a member of First Baptist Church Laurens where she was in the Golden Circle Sunday School Class. She loved playing bridge, was an avid reader, enjoyed watching birds from her window, and most of all, loved being with family and friends. A favorite tradition was her weekly dining out on Thursdays at Wendy's with her friends. Miriam also enjoyed sports, played golf, and was a devoted Gamecock fan. During basketball season, she would be found nightly watching women's basketball on television.
Miriam is survived by two daughters, Lisa Corley and Lynne Brown; a grandson Benjy Brown (Marie); a brother, Charles Hall (Brenda); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Hall and the father of her children, Edward Corley.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Westview Memorial Park, conducted by Rev. Tim Marsh.
The family would like to thank the staff of both Martha Franks and Lutheran Hospice for the care and compassion that was shown to Miriam.
