Mitchell Jackson "Buddy" Faulks, 69, of Levelland passed from this life on May 10, 2025. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Krestridge Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 15, 2025, in the Krestridge Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in the Midway Cemetery in Hawley, Texas at 4:00 p.m.
Buddy was born on July 10, 1955, on Fort Bliss Army Base in El Paso, Texas to Jack and Yvonne Faulks. He grew up in Lubbock, Texas where he graduated from Monterey High School. After graduation he joined the Army, 82nd Airborne Division, and was stationed in Fort Bragg North Carolina.
After military service he began his pursuit of his first love – music – which led him to his true love, Susan. He enrolled at South Plains College in the Music Department. He became a part of the Country Caravan, a group of music program students that traveled to perform. It was there he joined the band Texas Gold and put out a self-titled album. The stars aligned at a show on campus in 1977 where he met his soon-to-be wife, Susan Heflin. They were wed on December 16, 1978. They lived, loved, worked together, and finished school. They welcomed their daughter Miran D’Vonne Faulks in December of 1988. Their son Jacob Donovan Faulks was born in March of 1992.
Buddy earned his Dual Master’s Degrees from Texas Tech University in Finance and Accounting. He worked in Accounting, Oil and Gas, and did Auctioneering alongside his father Jack.
He was a member of Levelland Masonic Lodge where he served as Secretary. The Mason’s strive to encourage education and offer scholarships to local seniors. This is something he took great pride in.
He was enjoying his retirement years with his wife and beloved dogs.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Yvonne Faulks.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Susan Faulks of Levelland, Texas. His daughter Miran and son-in-law Albert Rivera and grandsons Luke and Lincoln of Lubbock, Texas. His son Jacob and daughter-in-law Valerie Faulks of Dallas, Texas.
He was so proud to be a Mason. In lieu of flowers, Buddy would encourage donations to the Levelland Masonic Lodge.
