Morris Hudson Obituary Colonel Morris R. Hudson, United States Air Force, retired, of Blue Springs, MO, passed away peacefully February 5, 2025 at the age of 84. He was preceded in death by his bride of 63 years Joanne (Magner) Hudson.
He is survived by their four children: Kimberly (Hudson) Bartlett and husband Charlie, Karen (Hudson) Lowry and husband Tom, Kevin Hudson, and Kyle Hudson and his former wife Robin (Faust) Hudson, as well as treasured grandchildren Andrew and Margaret, Anna and John, Ryan and Erin, Elizabeth and Rob, Eva, and Jonah, 2 great granddaughters and a great grandson on the way.
Morris, the son of the late Zaring and Gladys (Morris) Hudson, arrived as an early Valentine on February 13, 1940, in Scottsburg, IN. He is survived by his sister Betty Jean (Hudson) Salyer and her husband Greg, sister in law Betty (Buchanan) Magner, many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless close friends residing here, there and everywhere throughout the US.
Morris had a gentle, laid back nature and easy laugh that left a person feeling better for having spent time with him. He grew up in the small quintessential Rockwellian town of Salem, IN, where he enjoyed Boy Scouting, playing basketball, was the Drum Major of the Salem High School Band, Salutatorian of the Class of 1958, and went on to major in business at Indiana University. He married his college sweetheart Joanne Magner of Orleans, IN, in 1961 and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the USAF in 1962. Their motto On the Road Again stemmed from his varied military assignments that took them near and far from Texas, Wyoming, Indiana, Washington, Colorado, Georgia, Ohio, and across "the pond" (Atlantic Ocean) to Germany and Spainand upon retiring from the military, he began a new career as the Missouri Procurement Technical Assistance Center (MOPTAC) Director at the University of Missouri for 22 years in Columbia, which truly became their Home Sweet Home for 32 years, filled with yet more On the Road Again fun filled adventures and wonderful people who became "family".
Come with me, the best is yet to be - thanks for the memories Morris!
