Age 78
Northport Funeral & Cremation Service family extends our warmest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the family of Mr. Rodger D. Banks. Mr. Banks passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2025, in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Rodger Dale Banks passed away at the age of 78 on Thursday February 27, 2025, at Druid City Regional Hospital in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Dale was born May 31, 1946. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He grew up in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and attended Tuscaloosa High School. After high school, Dale went on to join the military. He was a proud marine where he served two tours in Vietnam. After returning home, he went on to work for BF Goodrich. After thirty-seven years of service, he retired from BF Goodrich to spend time with his family. Dale was very involved in the local 351 union where he was a time study engineer. Dale spent many of his years earlier in his life playing softball and went on to be inducted into the Softball Hall of Fame. Later in life, he enjoyed spending his time with his family and especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren as they were his pride and joy.
He was proceeded in death by his daughter, Vickie Hall Howard, mother, Clister Herrin; father, Floyd Banks; sister, Roberta Banks Boyd; three brothers, Bruce Banks, James Banks, and Douglas Banks.
Dale is survived by his loving wife of thirty-five years, Carolyn Banks; one daughter, Regina Banks; two sons, Jason Hall (Angela) and Jack Hall; two sisters, Christine Banks Luccier and Linda Banks McGarrah; one brother, Eugene Banks. He was survived by seven grandchildren, Jackson Hall, John Howard (Ashlynne), Hudson Hall (Hanna), Hayden Hall, Ellie Howard, Ashlynn Hall, and Hunter Hall and seven great grandchildren.
There will be a private memorial service at a later date for the family to honor Rodger Dale Banks.
Compassionate, sympathetic, and professional service has been entrusted to the hands and care of the Northport Funeral & Cremation Service Professional Team.
