Myrna Consuelo Reid, age, 74, of Douglasville, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2023. She was born June 1, 1948 in Belize. She is the daughter of the late Mr. Robert Ferguson and the late Mrs. Elmira E. Brown.
After high school, she became a shipping manager for 20+ years at Herbert Stanley Company, and from there she retired. Myrna’s family moved to Douglasville, Georgia in 1995, where she and her husband started their own family business, and did very well for themselves.
Myrna was very family oriented and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and singing for the Lord in church. Myrna was an active member of Goshen SDA Church in Chicago, Illinois, and Grandview SDA Church in Austell, Georgia. She also enjoyed time spent with her siblings, telling jokes about their younger days and times she had encountered. Myrna had a wonderful sense of humor and many times listeners would cry tears of laughter. Her smile and laughter would brighten the day, and it was surely a good time being in her presence. Myrna had a big heart, a good listening ear, and gave great advice.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Gretchen Stovall.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mr. Cecil Reid; daughter, Tannysha Reid; sons, Ricky Mendoza, and Eugene Ferguson. She will be forever missed by her siblings: Bryant Saldivar, Louis Bodden (Esme), Elizabeth Halls, Robert Ferguson (Ethel), Emer-son Ferguson, Barbara Tyler, James Ferguson (Catherine), and Laverne Falconer. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jaylen Kemp, Prince Spy and Lynnox Spy, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Myrna is the fourth of ten children, and the second to sleep. She now awaits the coming of her lord.
“1 Thessalonians 4:16” – For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
According to Mrs. Reid’s wishes she was cremated. The memorial service will take place on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 4:00 PM at Sweetwater SDA Church, 3630 Humphries Hill Rd, Austell, GA 30106 with pastor McNeil officiating.
