Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Covenant HealthCare Harrison, with her family at her side. Age 89 years.
The daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kraatz) Chartrand, Myrtle was born on February 23, 1936, in Merrill, Michigan. She married Robert Owen Zietz on June 19, 1954. He preceded her in death on December 19, 2013. Myrtle was a member of Second Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir. She dedicated tens years of service as a switchboard operator at Second National Bank. Myrtle found joy in cooking, sewing, and line dancing alongside her beloved husband.
Surviving are her two daughters and son, Deborah (Charles) Peckham, R. Paul (Michelle) Zietz, Kathryn (Scott) Langhorne; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Dixon. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Besides her husband and her parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth Chartrand, Duane Chartrand, Eugene Chartrand, LeRoy Chartrand; and sisters, Loada Chartrand, Lilah Goward, Isabel Turbin, Beulah Turbin.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Second Presbyterian Church, 2665 Midland Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Rev. Roger Bauer will officiate with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Second Presbyterian Church.
