Najee Moon

Najee Moon, 29, of Rocky Hill, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.
Najee was born in Hartford, the beloved son of Kylene Moon and the late Keith Jackson, and graduated from Rocky Hill High School, where he was a star athlete and captain of the football team. After high school, he was employed as a lifeguard and swimming instructor at the YMCA and then taught special needs children to swim and play basketball. He then worked in security, moving, and landscaping, a job he very much enjoyed, and used his talent to create a beautiful garden in his mom's backyard.
Najee was a loving son, father, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and dear friend. He will fondly be remembered as a kind and caring man who loved his family dearly. The sun rose and set on his beautiful son, Chance, who was the light of his life. He loved teaching him new things, especially how to swim, and they loved hanging out together. He had a special relationship with his mother, Kylene, with whom he made his home, and together they were creating the best life for Chance by giving him all the love they had in their hearts to make him a strong and confident young man. Najee had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back or the last dollar in his pocket if you needed it; and there was nothing he would not do for his family and close friends. Najee had a smile that would melt your heart and light up a room at the same time. He also had a great sense of humor, loved to make people laugh, and was always the life of the party. Najee leaves a legacy of beautiful memories that will live in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
Najee was an amazing cook and loved to make BBQ Ribs and Chili. He loved to take Chance to the park and enjoyed taking trips to the water, swimming, fishing, biking, and working out at the gym with his best friend, Ryan. Recently, his whole family went to Arizona to visit his brother, Kyja, and they had an amazing time having fun and seeing the sights together, not knowing it would be their last time all together.
In addition to his mother, Kylene, and his son, Chance, of Rocky Hill, who have an ache in their hearts with his passing, Najee is survived by his brother, Kyja Moon and his wife Melissa, and their children, Aquan and Kaison Moon, all of Mesa, AZ; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Najee was predeceased by his father, Keith Jackson, who he still heavily mourned, and now they are reunited again in God's Heavenly Kingdom.
His family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 20, 11 a.m.-12 p.m., with a 12 Noon Celebration of Life, at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor.
His burial will be private.
