Nanette Cheryl Phillips
Nanette Cheryl Phillips passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 25, 2025 after being diagnosed 24 months previously with metastatic breast cancer.
On March 3, 1958 Nanette (Nan) was born in Topeka Kansas and at the age of 6 years came to live with her father (NT) and his new bride (Joyce). Nan was a devoted sister to Jennifer, Suzi and Brittany. She loved animals and over the years cared for several cats and dogs and an unconventional pet squirrel. Her favorite animal was Amber, a quarter horse which was gifted to her at age fourteen. At the age of ten while attending Oakwood Baptist Church, Nan accepted Christ as her Savior and she never wavered in her belief. Prior to her death she was at peace awaiting for the time that she would enter heaven and see Jesus and no longer experience suffering or pain" (Rev 21:4)
In 1988, Nan married Dale Phillips who was a devoted and loving husband. Nan cherished yearly family gatherings on holidays, beach trips to Cape San Blas and family reunions at Roan Mountain Cabins.
Throughout the year Nan's favorite pastime was searching sale catalogues to find the perfect Christmas gift for each family member.
Nan is predeceased by her husband Dale Phillips, Mother: Lova Thompson; Grandparents: Neavon and Marguerette Campbell and Houston and Ruth Blevins; Nephew: Preston Evans.
She is survived by her parents NT and Joyce Campbell; Sisters: Jennifer (Mark) Evans, Suzi (Dino) Marletta, Brittany (Jimmy) Moncrief; Aunt: Jane Nelson and 9 nieces and nephews and many cousins; Special friends: Sharon Lovelace, Ava Hastings and Shirley Ramsey.
A special thanks to those who supported and provided loving care to Nan in the past and to the time of her passing: Jane Nelson (Aunt), Kimberlyn Johnson (Johnson Mental Health Center), Sharon Lovelace (Friend), Melanie Norwood and the residents of Alma's Safe Haven, Helen Smith (Palliative NP Chattanooga Oncology), Adoration Hospice Care, and Staff Standifer Place.
