Nancy Ruth Clifford, of Falmouth and formerly of Stoneham, MA, called to eternal rest on June 21st, 2025. She was 85 years old.
Born on April 16, 1940 to Harry and Ruth Gummow. She was married to Paul V. Sheehan for over 34 years.
Nancy was a 1957 graduate of Stoneham High School. She was born and raised in Stoneham. She graduated from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Class of 1961.
Nancy taught at Georgetown High School for three years and Salem State University as a professor in Physical Education for 35 years.
She waitressed summers in Falmouth at Smith's Surrey Room for 9 years, and for 30 years at Bill Weaner's Silver Lounge.
Nancy was an avid golfer, tennis player, runner and artist and was a volunteer at the Falmouth Service Center.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Sheehan and her brothers, Ronald Gummow and Clive B. Gummow and his wife, Dianne, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
A special thanks to the ICU staff at the Falmouth Hospital.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, July 2nd from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 584 West Falmouth Highway, West Falmouth, MA with a Funeral Service scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
Donations may be made in Nancy's memory to The Special Olympics, Pine Street Inn and the Falmouth Service Center.
