Nancy J. McMillan (Ransopher), born January 7, 1945, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and selflessness.
Nancy is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Walter (Butch) McMillan; her devoted daughter, Tina Richards and son-in-law, Brad Richards; her cherished step-daughter, Traci Lautsbaugh; her adoring grandchildren, Dustin Griffin, Miranda Griffin and Amy Lautsbaugh; and her great grandchildren, Jayse Burnside and Raya Kelker who will carry forward her loving spirit. She is also survived by her brother, John Ransopher and his wife, Cindy.
A pillar of the Rittman United Methodist Church, Nancy found joy serving her community. Known for her unwavering commitment, she could always be found making coffee for church services, arriving an hour early to ensure everything was perfect. Her dedication extended beyond the church as she actively supported the Rittman Fire Department's auxiliary. During bad fires, she would gather her children and head to the fire station, providing food and drinks to the hardworking firefighters.
Nancy's nurturing spirit touched many lives in her community. As the beloved community babysitter, she cared for countless children as if they were her own, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. Her warmth and kindness created a safe haven for all who knew her.
Nancy shared a zest for life with her husband, Butch, enjoying the freedom of the open road on their motorcycle and creating cherished memories. Family was at the heart of everything Nancy did, she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones.
Preceded in death by her son, Wayne Wilcox; and brother, Jim Ransopher. Nancy's absence leaves a void deeply felt by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, compassion, and community service will continue to inspire and guide us.
Nancy will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her. As we remember her, let us carry forward her example of kindness, dedication, and unwavering love.
Services will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Auble-Gillman Funeral Home, 360 W. Sunset Dr., Rittman with Pastor Ruthie Trigg officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved son, Wayne, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Seville.
