Mrs. Nancy J. (Cunningham) Nothstein

Mrs. Nancy J. (Cunningham) Nothstein, 94, a longtime resident of Lafayette Avenue, Palmerton, died on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, in Mrs. Bush's Personal Care Home, Kunkletown. She was the widow of Paul Nothstein, who passed away in 1997.

She was a daughter of the late Earl Cunningham and Orpha (Arner) Cunningham.

Nancy was a 1948 graduate of the Palmerton High School, and a member of the last graduating class of the Palmerton Hospital School of Nursing in 1950.

She served as an RN for Dr. Jane Goplerud for several years.

Nancy was a neighborhood nurse and loved caring for others.

She enjoyed bowling, pinochle club, and being a Cub Scout Den Mother, and Girl Scout Leader.

She participated in her high school reunion committee and was a member of the Nurse's Association.

She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter, as much as she did Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, Tea Cups and Ritz Crackers.

Surviving are a son, Bill Nothstein of Catasauqua; a daughter Paula wife of Mark Semmel of Palmerton; grandchildren, Gregory Nothstein, and his wife, Meredith, of Exton, Bethany Nothstein of Nork City, N.Y., Steven Semmel, and his wife, Morgan, of Mechanicsburg, and Matthew Semmel, an d his fiancée, Shayna Milberg, of Lehighton; and a great-granddaughter, Riley Nothstein.

She was also predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Deborah A. (Markhefka) Nothstein.
