Nancy was born on March 7, 1953, in Alexandria, VA, the daughter of George Hugh Perkins and Mary Louise Champ. She graduated from Arlington High School as class Valedictorian. In 1970 she attended the University of Chicago and received her Bachelor's degree. In 1974 she went to Medical School at the University of Virginia and became a Board Certified Anesthesiologist. After spending a year at Harvard, she went to the University of Rochester and received her Master in Public Health degree. While teaching at the U of R, she also received her PhD in Political Science. After serving as Assistant Medical Director of Blue Cross Blue Shield, she co-founded the medical analytical software company HealthChex, which was sold four years later to a Fortune 50 company. She then married John Weyl, and co-founded the medical diagnostic software company Logical Images Inc. (now VisualDX Inc.). She and John retired in 2004 and designed and built a house on a small Pacific Island in the Rep. of Panama where they spent winters for 20 years. Nancy loved to travel, and had visited England, Easter Island, Jamaica, Argentina, Chile, Panama, Israel, Europe, New Zealand, Alaska and all lower 48 United States. Nancy loved dogs, was an avid baseball fan, enjoyed all types of music, was an excellent card player, and had a very loud, infectious laugh. She will be missed by the many people she touched over the course of her bountiful life. Donations in her memory can be made to The Human Society of Greater Rochester at Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Rd., Fairport, NY, 14450.

I will miss Nancy's passion for animals and her wry sense of humor. I'll never forget her insisting that Lollypop Farm should get a giraffe. I considered her a friend and will miss our visits.
