HARRELLSVILLE, NC - Neal Thomas Britt, of Hertford County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on July 17, 1958, in Hertford County, he spent his entire life contributing to and enriching the community that he loved.
A man of the soil, Neal began his working years as a farmer, cultivating both crops and values that would serve him throughout his life. For over 25 years, he owned and operated Britt Fence Co., providing not just fences, but strength and security to countless families and businesses. Neal Britt will be remembered for his steadfastness, generosity, and the warmth he brought to the lives of his family and friends. May his spirit find peace in the enduring harmony of the land he so dearly cherished.
Neal was a man of deep passions and simple joys. Deer hunting was a pursuit he cherished, finding camaraderie and solitude alike within the woods. He was a longtime member of the Chinquapin Hunting Club, where he formed many lasting friendships. Neal also took great pleasure in fishing at Ocracoke, enjoying the peace and bounty of nature's waters. His green thumb flourished in gardening, where he found patience and pride in nurturing life from the earth. Above all else, his favorite moments were those spent with his precious grandbabies, Auden and Ellie Matthews, who brought boundless joy to his days.
