Neil Robert Barrus, our larger-than-life husband, father, son, and friend, passed peacefully at his home on September 29, 2025. Surviving him are his wife, Katie and three children: Brianna Price (Austin), Larissa Rose (Jared), and Travis Barrus, four grandchildren Emma, Daxtin, Ryker, and Grayson, and mother Jeanette Barrus. He was welcomed in heaven by Emerson Barrus (father), LaNece DeMille (sister), Eric Barrus (brother) as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Neil was born on June 19, 1963 in Torrance, California to Jeanette and Emerson Barrus. He had an adventurous childhood living next to his still best friend, Jim Jarrett, swimming at the beach, camping, fishing, and riding his motorcycle in the desert. He moved to Utah and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1981. He graduated from college with an engineering degree and was employed at Hill AFB. Neil married the love of his life, Katie, in 1991. They spent many happy years raising their three children in Layton, Utah, then moving to their dream home in West Haven in 2002. Neil loved the outdoors and some of his favorite times were when he was hunting, fishing, and riding his quads. He loved spending summer weekends with family and friends at the cabin. You would always find Neil in a Carhartt t-shirt, so in memory of him, please feel free to dress comfortably in jeans and a Carhartt t-shirt for the services. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Premier Funeral Services 5335 S 1950 W, Roy UT 84067. He will be laid to rest at West Haven Cemetery 1550 S 2350 W West Haven, UT with a luncheon to follow at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 4775 S 4875 W West Haven UT. If sending flowers, they can be delivered to Premier Funeral Services after 11 am on October 11, 2025.
