Neil Barry Zanetti passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, September 8th 2024, at the age of 88 (Born 12/9/1935).
Neil graduated from Hunterdon Central High School, Flemington, NJ.
Neil fought a 26-year battle after suffering a massive stroke in 1998. His determination and fight never wavered, especially with his loving and dedicated wife of 48 years, Bonnie, by his side.
Neil had a love for Philadelphia sports, especially the Phillies and Eagles. He was never seen without his baseball hats even in his final days. He coached endless sports organizations and teams. He was a part of the baseball and football programs at Central Bucks High School East, as well as Warrington Legion Baseball, and led the Carpenter Cup Championship to victory in 1993.
Neil was an avid chef, and spent many years working at various local restaurants, finally leading to the opening of Zanetti's Restaurant in Lahaska, where for 10 years, he and his wife Bonnie owned and operated the restaurant, generating a strong following of loyal local customers. He had a love for all ice cream, but especially coffee ice cream with chocolate jimmies (not sprinkles).
While Neil spent his last six years at Neshaminy Manor, one of his favorite activities was playing bingo, where he would often earn quarters, which he would save in order to take his wife Bonnie, and Carissa to Disney World, a long-loved family vacation destination.
Neil's larger-than-life personality, outgoing manner, and love for his family and friends will be sorely missed by so many.
Neil is survived by his wife Bonnie Zanetti (Lewis), and their daughter Carissa. He is also survived by his daughter Maureen Bradley, his daughter in law Borka Zanetti, and granddaughter, Ava Zanetti.
Neil is predeceased by his parents Henry and Susan (Miller) Zanetti, his sister Lucia Ziemba (Richard), and brother Leonard (Virginia). Neil was also predeceased by his two sons, Neil A. (Borka), and Craig.
Bonnie and Carissa are forever grateful to their family and friends for their love and support over the last 26 years. They would also like to thank the staff at Neshaminy Manor for the kind, compassionate, and selfless care of Neil.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation on behalf of the Zanetti Family to the Neshaminy Manor Activities Program. For those wishing to send an arrangement to the funeral home, please contact a florist of your choice.
Family and friends are invited to Neil's Life Celebration, Friday, September 13th, from 9:00am to 10:15am, at John F. Givnish of Buckingham, 4886 York Road, and to participate in his Funeral Mass at 11:00am at the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 5194 Cold Spring Creamery Road, Doylestown, PA. Interment private.
