I just retired after 49 years with the company. And I worked with Nelson on and off throughout all those years. He was one of my favorite storm managers very, very nice and fair.
And a wonderful mentor.

Nelson was a great man, mentor and friend. He loved to talk about his family and with so much pride. We worked together for many years and I learned so much from him. You always knew when anyone needed to talk or just a laugh. You will truly be missed by all. Gone too soon. Rest in peace Nelson. My condolences to your family.

I had the privilege of working with Nelson over the past year and, in that short time, he became more than just a colleague; he was a mentor, a guide and a source of encouragement. His patience and generosity left a lasting impact on me, as I know they did on so many others.
Nelson had a remarkable way of making challenges feel manageable. He shared his knowledge freely, always leading with kindness and a steady hand. He didn´t just teach skills; he instilled confidence, integrity and a sense of purpose. His presence was one of quiet strength and his absence leaves a profound void.
To his family and friends, I extend my deepest condolences. Nelson spoke often of those he loved, and it was clear that his greatest joy came from the people in his life. While words cannot ease this loss, I hope it brings some comfort to know that his kindness and wisdom will live on in the many lives he touched.

Oh my coffee buddy. Always "upset" because I arrived with my morning coffee and never his. But always would run back out to get you yours...
You´ve guided and mentored me in my new position as a grocery manager and I´m forever grateful. The conversations usually starting with tears and ending in laughter. You knew how to make someone feel appreciated, respected and loved. Thank you for all you´ve done for myself and the company. You will surely be remembered and truly missed.
To the Doonan family,
I never had the pleasure to meet you but your husband/son/father ALWAYS spoke highly of all of you, with such pride and love, I almost felt like I did know all of you. He is a special soul that I will carry with me in my personal & career life forever.
My deepest sympathies and condolences. Xo
