Nicholas “Nick” James Stelter, age 44 of Montello passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, June 24, 2025. Nick was born in Berlin on April 18, 1981 to Norman and Jeanette (Lein) Stelter. He graduated from Montello High School in 1999 and following a brief time working on a farm he has been employed at Alliance Laundry Systems in Ripon; he just completed his 25th year of faithful employment. Nick enjoyed hunting, playing cards and was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan. He was a gifted cook and gladly shared his food with family and friends. Nick was always willing to help others and donated locally to Operation Santa and Budda-Box. He was the kindest and most giving person you'll ever meet and will be fondly remembered for his generosity.
Nick is survived by his parents, Norman “Butch” and Jeanette “Jan” Stelter of Montello and one brother, Michael of Randolph as well as cousins: Shelly, John, Nicole, Eric, Rebecca and Jesse and nieces: Jasmine, Amara and Kerrigan. He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Geraldine Lein and three uncles: Harold (Marion) Stelter, James (Mary) Lein and Bob (Toni) Pribnow along with many other extended family members.
Nick is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, George Lein, paternal grandparents, Albert and Della Stelter, uncle, Edwin Stelter and aunt, Edna Pribnow.
A Celebration of Nick’s Life will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Crawford Funeral Home in Montello. There will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Budda-Box, P.O. Box 591, Montello, WI 53949.
The family would like to thank our families, friends and community for all your love and support during this very difficult time.
May You Rest In Peace Nick. You mattered to us more than you will ever know and will forever live in our hearts and will be missed greatly.
