Nickie Morris Bolos passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025, at Ogden Regional Medical Center surrounded by her son, daughter-in-law, family, and friends.

She was born on November 20, 1935, in Kamenitsa, Greece to Fotoula Stathopoulos and George Mavraganis. At the age of 15, Nickie immigrated to the United States, traveling by sea for 15 days to Ellis Island. When she arrived, she was greeted by her Aunt Dorothy and Uncle Jim, who had traveled to New York by car from Blackfoot, Idaho to receive her. Although having never previously met her aunt and uncle, she returned to Blackfoot with them to begin her new life, stopping at Chicago, Mount Rushmore, and other landmarks along the way. In Idaho, she attended Saint Margaret’s Catholic High School where she learned English and excelled in volleyball. Nickie eventually received her U.S. Citizenship joyfully and spent her early adult years working at Bon Ton Candy Company and Diner.

At her sister Katerina’s wedding in Pocatello, Idaho, Nickie coincidentally met a family from Ogden who were from her new brother-in-law’s village in Greece, Nestani. Unbeknownst to her, among them was her future husband, Andreas. Soon after meeting, she married her sweetheart Andreas “Andy” Kostantinos Bolos on February 18, 1959, at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Pocatello.

Nickie moved to Ogden with her new husband where they were happily married for 58 years until Andy’s passing in 2017.

Nickie was a faithful parishioner of the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church of Ogden where she was a lifetime member of the Daughters of Penelope, a member of the Philoptochos Society for over 50 years, sang in the church choir for many decades, and an active worker and supporter of the annual Greek Food Festival since its inception as a food and pastry “bazaar.”

Nickie is survived by her son, Dino (Jammie) Bolos; grandchildren, Kylee, Andreas, Austin, and Neekolas; great-grandchildren, Addyson L, Demetrios Kostandinos, Atticus Andreas, Silas Pierce, Lainey Elizabeth, Mayson Cole, Atreus Atlas, and Zaynah Nadiene. She is also survived by her brother, Frank (Demitra); sister, Soteria; many nieces and nephews; and goddaughter, Kristen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andy; son, Chris; and five siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church, 674 42nd St. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church of Ogden.
