Mr. Norman Clay Welch, age 73 of Sandersville, passed away at his residence on Monday, June 23, 2025. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at White Oak Church, with burial following in the church cemetery. Mr. Welch was a lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Andrew Clay Welch and the late Nolie Poole Welch. His working career was spent in the kaolin industry, and he retired from Thiele Kaolin Company as a lab technician. In his spare time Mr. Welch enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as farming. He was a wonderful and dedicated father and grandfather, and was always there for his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Nellie W. Alligood and his in-laws, George and Dorothy Hauesler.
Mr. Welch is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Ann Hauesler Welch; sons, Andy Welch and his wife Taylor and Charlie Welch, all of Sandersville; grandchildren, Mason Welch, Will Welch, C.H. Welch, and Chrislynn Helton; sisters, Harriett Cowart and her husband Tommy, and Beryl McNeely; brother-in-law, Al Alligood and sister-in-law; Jenny Webb and her husband Dennis; "adopted daughters" Keisha Reeves and Katrina Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests donations be made in Mr. Welch's memory to White Oak Church, 8578 Tree Nursery Road, Davisboro, GA 31018.
