Ofelia was born on July 24, 1965, in Weslaco, Texas to Candido and Bernadina (Mendez) Velasquez.
Ofelia enjoyed doing arts, crafts, and decorating, especially for Christmas. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed taking them to South Padre Island.
She is survived by one son, Javi Saenz (Claudia Mata) of Plainview; one daughter, Gloria Nina Saenz (Robert Gerhardt) of Fort Worth, TX; six sisters: Angelina and Roberto Rivera, Emma and Melecio Ramirez of both of Mercedes, TX, Isidra and Tomas Fonseca of Weslaco, TX, Margarita and Angel Pantoja, Oralia and Domingo Falcon, and Maricela Ramirez of Plainview, TX; five brothers: Guadalupe Velasquez of Plainview, Eleazar and Ninfa Velasquez of Pharr, TX, Daniel and Ester Velasquez, Eliverto Velasquez, and Gerardo and Dalia Velasquez of Paris, TX; five grandchildren: Emeliano Ismael Flores, Elianna Adelia Saenz, Eliaro Javier Saenz, Elias Francisco Saenz, and Kaeli Alyssandra Gerhardt; eighteen nieces and eleven nephews.
