Oscar Guillermo Valdez, Sr., born on February 10, 1942, in Mexico, passed away peacefully at Home Hospice on May 25, 2025. He lived a life filled with hard work, compassion for others, and cherished moments with family.
Oscar dedicated his professional life to the construction industry, specializing as a mason laborer. His expertise in masonry was a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. Colleagues and clients alike respected and admired him for the quality of his work and his dedication to each project.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Oscar found joy in various hobbies and interests. He had a passion for singing and dancing, often sharing these joys during family gatherings. Playing cards brought him endless delight, as did his fascination with junk cars and the simple pleasures of ranch life. These interests reflected a spirit full of life, joy, and a love for gathering with those around him.
Oscar was immensely loved by his family, which included his sons, daughters, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. His relationships with them were marked by deep affection and mutual respect. He nurtured these connections throughout his life, leaving behind a legacy of love and support.
A visitation is scheduled for June 2, 2025, from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Martinez Funeral Chapels in Tucson, Arizona. A Rosary will be held that same morning at 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass at Santa Monica Catholic Church at 10:00 AM. Oscar will then be laid to rest at Holy Hope Cemetery, with burial taking place at 11:30 AM.
Oscar Guillermo Valdez, Sr. will be remembered for his unwavering spirit, devotion to family, and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy will live on in the hearts of many, and he will be deeply missed.
